Day 16: tomorrow on the record
Preview entry, written the night before. Five targets on the record before the day starts, the first hour committed to outreach instead of build, a hard client deadline at end of day, Handyman moving in parallel on legal and Slice 2 UI, and jiu-jitsu late. Wins, losses, and lessons land when the day closes.
This entry is being written before the day, not after. The rule has always been to write the journal at night about that day’s work, what moved, what did not, what got named for later. Tonight is different. This is the plan for tomorrow, on the record before tomorrow starts.
Day 14 and Day 15 both ended with the apparatus has to send and both ended with no message sent. The lesson Day 15 named was that two days of that is structural, not motivational, and that the fix is the first hour. The first hour is hard to fight when it has been published the night before. So here are tomorrow’s targets in writing where I cannot pretend they were something else by tomorrow night.
The first hour: outreach
First action of the day, before legal, before app, before the client thread, before anything else. The LinkedIn surface has been rebuilt across two days. Sales Navigator Core is active. The targets do not need more research, they need a message. The first hour exists to use the surface, not to admire it.
The client deadline
End of day Friday on the Upwork client work I committed to. That is the one hard external deadline of the day, and the block is protected. It runs mid-day, after the first hour of outreach and before the build hours pick up in the evening.
Handyman in parallel
Legal track is bursty: the entity formation steps for the Brazilian SLU, contador outreach, the CPA shortlist for the green-card phantom-income side. One possible blocker on the LLC setup itself; everything else moves on calendar time and clears the way for the build to stay continuous. Slice 2 actions two and three (the onboarding UI and the location-capture UI) sit on top of Slice 2 action one shipped today, and they are unblocked.
Marketing operational, small but real
Start sending, even small. The LinkedIn profile is built well enough, the content pipeline is in place, what is missing is one real message and then the next one. Capitalize on what got built across the last two days instead of building more on top of it. The needle does not move until something goes out the door.
Jiu-jitsu
Late-night class. Cleaner break than a phone scroll, real cost in the body the next morning, and a useful frame on the day’s work that nothing else gives. Stays on the schedule.
What gets written here when the day closes
Wins, losses, lessons land tomorrow night, the way they always do. The targets above stay where they are. The point of writing this entry before the day is that the targets can be read against actuals when the wrap comes, and the gap between the two is what the next morning’s entry has to honor.
Targets
- The first hour goes to outreach, before legal, before app, before the client thread.
- Close the Upwork client work by end of day Friday.
- Send real outreach messages from the rebuilt LinkedIn surface, however small the first batch.
- Handyman, Slice 2 actions two and three (onboarding UI plus location-capture UI), and legal-track kickoff (contador and CPA outreach).
- Jiu-jitsu, late evening class.
